MIG · TIG · Stick · Houston 77008

I bring the welder
to your driveway.

Broken gate. Cracked trailer hitch. Railing pulling off the porch. Bracket that has to be made, not bought. I do the small metal jobs the big shops turn down, in the Heights, River Oaks, Montrose and around.

Free estimates. Most quotes back same day. Evenings and weekends.

What I weld

Three processes, one truck. If you are not sure which one your job needs, that is my problem, not yours. Send a photo.

MIG

Steel · fast · strong

The workhorse. Fence panels, gate frames, trailer repairs, brackets, security bars, shelving, anything mild steel that needs to hold and does not need to be pretty.

TIG

Aluminum · stainless · clean

When the weld shows. Stainless railings, aluminum trailer parts, thin-wall tubing, furniture, art pieces, boat and BBQ hardware. Slower, cleaner, worth it on visible work.

Stick

Outdoors · rusty · thick

Wind, rain, rust, paint, thick plate. Structural-ish repairs on posts, hitches and heavy brackets where MIG would fight the conditions. Runs off the truck, no shore power needed.

Jobs I take

  • Driveway and side gates: hinges, sagging frames, new latches, cattle-guard style repairs
  • Wrought iron fence and burglar-bar repair, re-welds and paint prep
  • Porch, stair and balcony railings: re-anchoring, extending, replacing rusted sections
  • Trailer work: hitch and coupler repair, fender mounts, ramps, tie-down D-rings, frame cracks
  • Custom brackets, mounts, feet and adapters that do not exist at the hardware store
  • BBQ pits and smokers: firebox repair, new shelves, hinge and handle replacement
  • Shop and garage builds: workbench frames, shelving, generator and compressor stands
  • Aluminum and stainless repairs where a clean bead matters

What I do not take

Certified structural steel, pressure vessels, pipeline, code-stamped work, and anything a permit or engineer sign-off rides on. That work needs a certified welder and I will tell you straight instead of taking your money. Ask me and I will point you at someone who does it.

What it costs

No mystery pricing. Here is the actual math I use.

Small repair, on site

$85–$150

One or two welds, under an hour. Loose railing, cracked bracket, gate hinge.

Half-day job

$225–$400

Two to four hours. Gate rebuild, multiple fence sections, trailer repair with fab work.

Custom fabrication

Quoted

Priced from a drawing or photo. Materials at cost plus 15 percent, labor by the hour.

  • Trip charge inside the 15-mile zone is included. Farther out is $1.50 per mile past 15.
  • Materials billed at cost plus 15 percent, receipt shown. Or supply your own steel and pay labor only.
  • Estimates are free and non-binding. If the job opens up bigger once I see it, you hear the new number before I strike an arc.
  • Cash, Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay.

Where I work

Based in the Heights. I keep the radius tight on purpose so I can get to you fast and not charge you for a drive across Houston.

77008 Heights 77019 River Oaks 77007 Rice Military 77009 Near Northside 77018 Oak Forest 77006 Montrose 77027 Highland Village 77098 Upper Kirby 77024 Memorial 77055 Spring Branch

Just outside the list? Ask anyway. If the job is worth the drive I will quote the trip charge up front.

Who you are hiring

My name is Jeff. I am a welding student in Houston and I run this on evenings and weekends, which is exactly why my rate is what it is. You are getting careful work from someone still building a reputation instead of a shop rate from someone who already has one.

What that means for you: I show up when I say, I send you a photo of the finished weld, and I would rather turn down a job than do one badly with my name on it. If a repair is not going to hold, I will tell you it is not going to hold.

Scheduling is honest too. School comes first, so I book weekday evenings after 4:30 and most of Saturday and Sunday. If your job needs a Tuesday morning, I am the wrong guy and I will say so on the first text.
